In the first qualification match of WTA Baltic Open 2019 the owner of the wild card Galina Voskoboeva lost to last year's quarterfinalist of WTA Moscow River Cup Valentyna Ivakhnenko 1/6, 2/6.

On the centre court in 1 hour 8 minutes the Russian beat her opponent from Kazakhstan in an emotional match executing 66% of her first serve, but making 2 double faults, while Galina Voskoboeva committed 3 double faults and her execution percentage of the first serve was only 45%.

"The match was emotional for me, I needed support, so I called for the coach, even though I was up. The following opponents (Marie Benoit and Akgul Amanmuradova) are familiar to me, but I will tune in to my tennis", commented on her victory Valentyna.

In the next match the Russian will take on the winner of the match Marie Benoit/Akgul Amanmuradova.
